My family always appreciated and encouraged my artwork. After years of education and travel, I began experimenting with oils, acrylics, pastels, etching, woodcuts, papermaking, scratchboard, and collage. I exhibited wildlife scratchboards in galleries and at many national wildlife art shows for many years.
Returning to South Carolina, I have recently found more freedom of expression in the colors and textures of collage. I use found papers, old books, magazines, handmade papers, stamps, and posters.
Whether abstract or realistic, the colors and textures of Nature have always been my chief inspiration. My current body of work is largely birds, both realistic and fanciful.
